Encoder Wizard  Encoder Wizard is a collection of two ActiveX (ocx) controls, Encoder Wizard and Decoder Wizard. These two controls allow you to fully support the Base64, Quoted-Printable, UUEncode, yEnc, MD5, URL, SHA-1, and Binary 2 Hex encoding methods. You can Encode and Decode data quickly and intelligently. Base 64 is the Encoding Method usually used for Binary files in MIME messages. It is also used to encode data for special characters accross telnet connection to certain servers. Quoted-Printable is used to encode text for transmission accross certain mail servers. It is also commonly used in MIME messages. UUEncode is the data encoding mechanism used by Unix systems for encapsulating binary data so that it can transported safely accross network connections. yEnc is a recently created encoding method that is now used a lot in newsgroups since it is significantly more efficient for data storage than the UUEncode format. yEnc takes advantage of being able to use 8 bit  encoding as opposed to the more restricted form of 7bit encoding used by UUEncode. MD5 is a message digest hash algorithm that is used for validation and verification of message integrity. It creates a highly unique 16 byte ( 128 bit ) digest from a set of data that is almost impossible to recreate without the same exact input data. URL encoding is used by webservers to contain all types of data for transmission through the http protocol. It is generally used to encode url access specifiers and form post data values. SHA-1 is another highly secure message digest algorithm used by the United States Government. It is now a publicly open algorithm which uses a 160 bit or 20 byte digest. The hash from any set of data less than 2^64 bytes in length provides a unique hash that is only creatable by the unique byte order. Binary 2 Hex is a conversion process that converts binary data to a hex string representation of that input data. This allows for conversion from and to the most common transmission of digest strings and other such data. It is a also an effective way of transmitting binary data to a string storage mechanism in a safe way since it only uses the characters 0-9 and a-f. Encoder Wizard and Decoder Wizard can manipulate these formats easily. Decoder Wizard also recognizes when a UUEncoded data file is read from a Unix encoder and properly reads the data. It also has the ability to parse the full content of multi-part yEnc encoded messages.

The control works in any ActiveX container and has no dependencies other than itself. With the new Asynchronous operation and the threaded synchronous version, your application will never hang. Ping Wizard Ping Wizard lets you conduct tests on the speed of your network. Ping Wizard sends a special packet to a server, and times how long it takes to get a reply. This time is the total latency of the packets that you send when communicating with this server. TraceRoute Wizard Trace Route Wizard allows a programmer to trace the route a packet must take to get to any specified address(IP or FQDN). It is very intuitive and straight forward. Fully ActiveX compliant, Trace Route Wizard also is setup to be used excellently in ASP scripted pages, or any ActiveX compliant scriptable languages because it has methods that utilize events and special methods that let you step through the process. You also get an immense amount of information regarding each Hop and also supports multiple attempts per hop. Finger Wizard Finger Wizard makes it easy to utilize the Finger service of networked servers. You can access all the information that the servers provide with easy to use methods. The Finger service runs on many types of servers. The main use is to provide data about the users of the particular system. Some return who is online at the moment, some return information about the mail boxes hosted on that server, and even others return scientific data. The Finger Protocol used is used for a few different purposes. The primary is to interrogate a server about its users. By querying with the user name, or even possibly the actual name of a user you can find out if they are online on the server, if they mail, their real name , their mail box name, their personal directory and more. It all depends on the administrator of the finger server for how much information you will actually get. You can add quick domain name checking capabilities to your program, allowing your users to see the owners of domain names and also see if they are not currently registered. There are many applications for this component. When a WHOIS query is conducted it speaks with a WHOIS server and asks it to return all the information it has available about a particular domain. The Domain records are then returned so you can see the Administrative, technical, Zone and other contacts. You also find out the DNS servers used for the website and contact information about the owner. Such as the name, address, phone number and sometimes email address of the registrant.

SNTP Wizard SNTP Wizard gives the power to retrieve the exact time from SNTP time servers across the Internet. Multiple resource records can exist for any server and each record has an associated preference level with it which lets you determine which server to try and communicate with first. This control has many uses, here are some: You can write your own SMTP Server and use this to lookup where to deliver the mail. Verify email addresses by looking up the domains MX record and verifying the email address with the mail server for the domain. Verifying and watching to make sure your companies MX records are correct and haven't been "hacked". The control gives you complete control over the data by letting you access all the returned MX server, their preference level and automatically giving you the preferred server. The control automatically detects the local machines DNS server and also allows you to set your own DNS server to use for the lookup.
